I am extremely pleased to see Terry Crews return for a couple of absurd Old Spice shaving gel ads. The first sees him emerge from a hospital stricken man’s bushy beard to shave his unwanted hair.
Shave
The second, which I prefer, features a bunch of new things competing to be the newest including a super muscle-y Terry Crews’ baby son.
Old Spice guy Isaiah Mustafa returns as the US President in this spot for the new Maccabee Beer in Isreal. I like the TastyTasty advert and do think it is pretty funny however I think it probably treads a little too closely to imitating the exact formula that saw such success with Isaiah for Old Spice. The entire ad feels a little too Old Spice-y for me.
We may have heard the last from Mr. Wolfdog following an incident that has seen him fired from his position as director of marketing for Old Spice. He left this final leaving message.
A lot of fun was had in his time in charge with loads of training videos, Google Hangout interviews, online gaming, assisted homework and wolf-like marketing. To see some of the other videos click here.
Old Spice have clearly been very busy under their new executive director of marketing Mr. WolfDog. Here are all the video’s that have been uploaded since my last post.
Old Spice would like you to meet Mr. WolfDog, their new executive director of marketing. In this clip he goes about demonstrating his marketing genius and encourages you to follow him on Twitter (@DirectorWolfDog) and on his blog (mrwolfdog.com). This is certainly not the funniest Old Spice video uploaded but the brilliance of everything else in the past means I will be following both eagerly waiting to see what comes of this ’wild’ campaign.
So rather than posting every single advert from the 2013 Super Bowl I thought it best to just post a few of my favourites. If you want to see more check out the Adblitz channel and while you are there vote for your favourite ad.

GoDaddy.com ‘Perfect Match’ featuring Bar Refaeli and Walter
Volkswagen Get In. Get Happy.
Taco Bell Viva Young featuring Bernie Goldblatt and his mates going wild to a Spanish version of We Are Young
AXE Apollo lifeguard
A continuation of the Axe/Lynx Apollo Space Academy campaign. This time a heroic life guard loses the girl to the astronaut. Nothing beats an astronaut.
Samsung Mobile USA The Next Big Thing featuring Paul Rudd and Seth Rogan
Oreo Whisper Fight – Absolutely my favourite of all the ads
This brilliant ad sees a whisper fight between two grown men in a library about whether the cream or the cookie is the better part of an Oreo. The fight grows and becomes more and more out of hand as more people join in however nobody every speaks louder than a whisper. Very funny indeed and in fact so good that I actually voted for it.
Old Spice have launched two new scents, namely Wolfthorn and Hawkridge, and have released these typically brilliant commercials to do so. They feature the Old Spice wearing alpha-males covered in wolves and hawks respectively. As is to be expected, by something as unlikely and awesome as this, ladies are smitten and men are intimidated.
Wolfthorn – Irresistible
This is my favourite of the two ads. It features a beautiful women being seduced by an irresistible man wearing a coat made of live wolves.
Hawkridge – Poker Face
This ad features a nervous man in a tense poker game against the alpha-male who has an ever growing covering of hawks that increases as the tension builds until eventually completely intimidated the nervous man caves in and folds his unbeatable hand.
I have been away for two weeks and have let this little side project of mine slip a little. It is definitely time for me to pick it up again and I thought I would start with this Old Spice Cement commercial featuring Green Bay Packers Wide receiver Greg Jennings. It carries on the successful Believe in Your Smell campaign that I have featured many times on here. Probably not my favourite Old Spice advert but still worth a watch.
