The Beer Scooter: A Perilous Journey Across The Gulf Of Booze Induced Amnesia

Nathan James Cooper has written and directed The Beer Scooter to explain how one arrives home inexplicably when tremendously drunk with no recollection of the journey. It’s very clever and pretty funny too. It has a kind of has a twisted Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy feel about it which I really like. I will definitely be following him on YouTube from now on to see what else he has up his sleeve.

Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby trailer

This past weekend while watching Danny Boyle’s slightly underwhelming Trance at the cinema I was treated to the trailer for Baz Luhrmann’s interpretation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby for the first time and was blown away. I am very excited about this film but will certainly need to read the novel before watching it. I imagine like the rest of Luhrmann’s work it will probably be beautiful and over the top and I for one can’t wait.

The Campaign

The campaign releases on the 28 September in the UK. It stars Will Ferrell and Zach Galifinakis and looks like a lot of fun. This is the trailer.

They have also released these individual campaign videos for each candidate and they are pretty entertaining too.

Volkswagen See Film Differently Campaign

I have featured this Volkswagen See Film Differently campaign but it continues to deliver brilliant commercials so I though I would share these three. They feature famous lines from classic films and provide a fun look at how they might have been thought up. They are pretty clever. I really like this campaign.

Jaws

Silence of the Lambs

Taxi Driver

Ron Burgundy confirms Anchorman sequel on Conan O’Brien

Ron Burgundy made a “surprise” visit to the Conan O’Brien show recently and after an amazing jazz flute solo; some pretty weak scripted dialogue with Conan; and some pretty funny comments on Conan’s looks he made the huge announcement that there officially will be an Anchorman sequel.

While I am a huge Will Ferrell fan and like most people I loved the original Anchorman, I have a very uneasy feeling about this sequel. However I will undoubtedly go watch it with as much blind optimism as I can muster. Here is hoping it can live up to this.

Sony Xperia commercial by Wes Anderson

This is the new Sony Xperia commerical directed by Wes Anderson. It sees him return to his much loved stop motion and I could not be happier. I love this advert.

Carnage

Carnage is Roman Polanksi’s latest film and it is set to release on 3 February in the UK. Polanski’s personal life may be fairly sordid but you can not argue with his film making prowess. The film is centred around a meeting of two pairs of parents regarding an incident that happened between their children. Kate Winslet, Jodie Foster, Christopher Waltz and John C Reilly play the aforementioned parents and judging by the trailer they have all put in amazing performances. Here is the trailer:

Moonrise Kingdom

The trailer for Wes Anderson‘s latest film was released yesterday. It is called Moonrise Kingdom and is set to release this summer. I am a huge Wes Anderson fan and The Darjeeling Limited is without a doubt my favourite film of all time. Moonrise Kingdom will be the second film written by Anderson and Roman Coppola (the first being The Darjeeling Limited) so I have very high hopes for this film. If the trailer is anything to go by I will not be disappointed.
