Amazing what you can do with a brilliant idea and a massive budget. Coke Zero came up with a very different way for people to win tickets to the launch of the new James Bond film Skyfall (or at least an agency did on their behalf). Unsuspecting train passengers buying Coke Zero from a vending machine at the station were offered a 007 challenge to get to platform 6 in 70 seconds. To make this more challenging their journey was riddled with classic chase scene obstacles.
I love the theme music supplied by the random buskers along the way and that they had the foresight to have promo girls with countdown times the whole way along the ‘course’. The final challenge sees them have to sing the James Bond theme tune before being rewarded with the tickets.
It is absolutely brilliant however there seems to be a debate going on as to whether or not it is actually real. I hope it is but the sceptic in me wonders how they were able to find so many model looking men that buy Coke Zero from a vending machine at a train station. Either way with almost 3,5 million views on YouTube to date it was a brilliant piece of marketing.
