Honda CRV Superbowl Ferris Bueller commercial

Matthew Broderick plays a very Ferris Bueller version of himself in this Honda CRV Superbowl commercial. The ad plays homage to 80′s classic Ferris Bueller’s Day Off by having Broderick pull a sick day to spend the day with his brand new CRV. There are apparently 12 references to the film in the advert that a true Ferris Bueller fans will be able to see, I can only pick up 6 or 7 so it may be time to re-watch the film.

The Rumble Strips – Girls and Boys in Love live at Fearless

This is The Rumble Strips performing Girls and Boys in Love live on Fearless Music. I really like this song.

Carnage

Carnage is Roman Polanksi’s latest film and it is set to release on 3 February in the UK. Polanski’s personal life may be fairly sordid but you can not argue with his film making prowess. The film is centred around a meeting of two pairs of parents regarding an incident that happened between their children. Kate Winslet, Jodie Foster, Christopher Waltz and John C Reilly play the aforementioned parents and judging by the trailer they have all put in amazing performances. Here is the trailer:

Samsung “Next Big Thing” Super Bowl Ad

I’ll continue with the theme of Superbowl adverts being previewed online. This Samsung Galaxy S II advert pokes fun at the so called Apple Fan Boys. Its pretty smart and I am sure anyone that doesn’t fall in the Fan Boy category will probably find it amusing.

Volkswagen Bark Side Commercial Teaser

With the Superbowl fast approaching the commercials that will be aired during the game are getting a lot of attention online. This is the teaser for Volkswagen’s advert and it is certainly leading the pack at the moment. It features a canine chorus barking out the tune of the Star Wars film’s dark side. It will be interesting to see the real commercial and how it ties in with this teaser.

Arcade Fire – No Cars Go live at Bonnaroo 2011

Without a doubt Arcade Fire top my list of bands I have to see live in my lifetime (preferably sooner rather than later). I struggle to find an Arcade Fire song that I do not love and this made choosing a song to feature in this post incredibly tough. I eventually settled on No Cars Go, this is them performing it at Bonnaroo last year. Its brilliant, they’re brilliant and I can’t get enough.

YouTube: No Pants Subway Ride 2012

This is awesome (Incredibly unhygienic but awesome). It happens in 28 countries around the world every year. Somehow I missed the 2012 London version. I am not sure whether I would want to laugh hysterically and join in or to cringe and judge people who are sitting on the filthy seats of the underground pant-less (who am I kidding, I would join in).

YouTube Hero: Jaaam, The Fresh Prince Remix

This is great. It features a mash up of lines from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. I loved this show growing up and this mash-up is an awesome tribute. Watch it.

Carlsberg Viral Cinema stunt campaign

I love this campaign and judging by the 10 million plus views it has had on YouTube I am not alone. The geniuses behind the campaign filled a cinema in Brussels with 148 mean looking bikers and filmed the reactions of couples arriving to take their seats. The couples that were brave enough to take their seats were rewarded with a Carlsberg.

Virgin Media Campaign featuring Usain Bolt as Richard Branson

This is the new Virgin Media advert. It features the worlds fastest man, Usain Bolt, acting as Richard Branson in order to endorse Virgin Media’s super fast broadband. It’s pretty clever and well worth a watch, even if just to see Usain Bolt sporting a dodgy Richard Branson-esque goatie.
