Google Chrome ad campaign

Really enjoying these Google Chrome adverts at the moment. Really great aspirational stories set to emotive music, always a winning combination… just ask Apple.

The Decemberists – Rise to Me live

Admittedly this isn’t all that new, however I still cannot get enough of The Decemberists latest album The King is Dead. They are still always one of my first choices on my Ipod when commuting across the city on the tube. Rise to me is just one of many great songs on the album. This is them performing it at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles earlier this year.

YouTube Heroes: Tim and Eric show – Sit on you

Saw this on RudeTube recently, its so catchy. Very tempted to perform this on the tube one day, probably would need a fair amount of alcohol to muster the confidence to do so. It  was put together by American comedians Tim (Heidecker) and Eric (Wareheim) for their show, The Tim and Eric Show. I am not usually a fan of their comedy, this however is the exception. Enjoy.

Tesco digital campaign South Korea

Digital innovation at its finest. The clip pretty much explains the whole thing, it is brilliant.

YouTube Heroes: Burt and Ernie Gangsta Rap

Sesame Street’s Burt and Ernie mashed up into a surprisingly convincing music video for M.O.P.’s song Ante Up. I cant get enough. I hope you feel the same.

Small Faces – Lazy Sunday live

I was watching The Boat that Rocked this weekend armed with my phone and Shazam I managed to instantly broaden my musical horizons. I have often heard the music in the movie without knowing who the artists were but no more. Somewhere in-between the brilliance of the Rolling Stones, The Kinks and others I heard this absolute masterpiece by the Small Faces. I absolutely love it but it has only reassured my fear that I was meant to have lived in the 60′s. Any who here it is…

The Black Keys – Lonely Boy

I was shown this Black Keys music video last night. It is definitely one of the coolest music videos I have ever seen. I foresee myself using these dance moves to make a fool of myself on dance floors for years to come.

YouTube Hero: Paul Merton and Ben Folds on Chat Roulette

When recently involved in a YouTube battle with my brother I stumbled upon these. Merton is famous for making clips on Chat Roulette in which he sits at his piano and improvises songs about either his observations of the people he is meeting or story ideas suggested by them. Here are a few of his clips:

As the videos gained popularity speculation arose as to who Merton really was, there was a rumour that it was Ben Folds. Ben denied this, however he gave this performance in Charlotte with a crowd of 2000 watching as a tribute to Merton. It is amazing

Pretty awesome, wish more people used Chat Roulette for this instead of touching themselves.

The Tallest Man on Earth – The Wild Hunt live at the great wide open festival

This is The Tallest Man on Earth, his real name is Kristian Matsson and he is probably the coolest Swede of all time. I pretty much want to be him. He has often been compared to Bob Dylan, high praise indeed but it is completely warrented. This is him performing The Wild Hunt at the Great Wide Open festival in 2010.

VW Ad campaign: See Film Differently

Recently when watching the brilliant Rum Diary I stumbled upon this awesome campaign. It is quite honestly amazing, despite having very little to do with Volkswagen cars themselves. I’ll post as many as I can find, watch them all. I can only find three for now, but watch this space.
